There are a wide array of workforce development services available to veterans. HVRP grantees and the veterans they serve can benefit from strong collaborations with these entities. Understanding the resources available specifically for veterans, and for all career seekers, will enhance the value of the services provided through HVRP.

Job Accommodation Network

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is the leading source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. Working toward practical solutions that benefit both employer and employee, JAN helps people with disabilities enhance their employability, and shows employers how to capitalize on the value and talent that people with disabilities add to the workplace.

Homeless Veteran Community Employment Services (HVCES)

HVCES: A primary goal of HVCES is to ensure that a range of employment-related services are accessible by Veterans who are unemployed, underemployed, or at risk of becoming unemployed in order to mitigate factors related to a current episode of homelessness and/or to prevent a future episode of homelessness.

HVRP & American Job Centers

This short brief introduces prospective partners to the American Job Center in their community, and support them to begin to explore the wide range of workforce development services and resources available to veteran and civilian career-seekers.

Senior Community Service Employment Program

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a community service and work-based job training program for older Americans. Authorized by the Older Americans Act, the program provides training for low-income, unemployed seniors. Participants also have access to employment assistance through American Job Centers.
